We have new caretakers, that are very excited to have the opportunity to care for so many wonderful dogs. We are very grateful for all the dedicated volunteers that gave so much of their time to love and care for the dogs while we were searching for someone to take that position. Their committment exceeded all expectations. The dogs not only received their food and had pens cleaned but the fact that there were different people out there every day gave the dogs something new and interesting in their life and made it an enriching experience.
The 2nd “You Ain’t Nothin’ but a Hound Dog Ball” is coming May 5, 2012, at Concordia Hall in Bellville! A great evening of delicious food and drink, dancing to music from the 1950’s, ‘60’s, and ‘70’s, and a silent auction is planned! Hope to see you there. The Bellville Chamber of Commerce has recognized Animal Friends Shelter as the non-profit organization of the year! We received the “Heart of the Community Award” at the Bellville Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet held in March 2011. This is wonderful news for the many dedicated volunteers who have worked so tirelessly to make a difference for the homeless animals in our area. You all are the best! Thanks again to all who have supported the shelter and worked so hard to make our efforts successful. We are thrilled to receive this recognition.
